GA WEST MPCU REVIEWS PROGRESS OF 2026 ANNUAL ACTION PLAN AT SECOND QUARTER MEETING

Amasaman, Greater Accra — June 24, 2026 — The Municipal Planning Coordinating Unit (MPCU) of the Ga West Municipal Assembly held its Second Quarter Review Meeting on Wednesday at the Assembly Hall in Amasaman to assess progress made in implementing the 2026 Annual Action Plan and identify strategies for improving performance in the coming months.

Departmental heads presented updates on activities undertaken during the period, highlighting achievements made despite resource and operational challenges. They expressed optimism that additional support and funding would facilitate the implementation of the remaining activities.

The Municipal Education Directorate recorded significant progress, completing eleven out of thirteen planned activities. They department expressed appreciation to the Assembly, the transport unit, the health directorate, and the security services for their support during the 2026 BECE and mock examinations. The directorate also emphasized the need for continued attention to special educational support for learners with disabilities. The Social Welfare and Community Development Departments reported that all ten planned activities were actively ongoing. Other departments reported steady progress in implementing their respective plans.

On the District Development Data Platform (DDDP), Mr. Julius Azumah, the Deputy Director of the Assembly stressed on plans to establish a team that will collaborate with the zonal councils. He also commended departments and councils that submitted their reports on schedule and encouraged others to do the same.

Mrs. Cynthia Bonsah, the Municipal Planning Officer encouraged Heads of Departments and Units to maintain alignment with the approved Action Plan template.

The quarterly review forms part of the Ga West Municipal Assembly’s commitment to monitoring progress, strengthening coordination among departments, and ensuring the successful implementation of the 2026 Annual Action Plan ahead of the District Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT) exercise.
