Ghanaian Association of Baltimore (GAB) Donates Item to 5 Orphanage Homes in Ga West Municipal

04.Nov.2025

As part of its humanitarian support to the less privileged in the country of origin of its members, the Ghanaian Association of Baltimore has donated items worth USD 6,000 to 5 orphanage homes in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region on 3rd November 2025. The donation included, clothes, shoes, bags, stationery and essential medical supplies.

The donations took place at the premises of the homes. The homes which received the items include Apam Orphanage and Foster Home, Chance for Children, Haven of Hope Residential Home, Rafiki Village Ghana and Kressner Home.

This exercise is not the associations first act of giving to the needy, it donates to the needy in other regions yearly. Ghanaian Association of Baltimore is a non- political, non-religious and a non-tribal association of Ghanaians living in the City of Baltimore, Maryland-USA.

The homes which received the donation operate under the supervision of the Department of Social Welfare and community Development. These homes run integrated educational programs, some with schools to serve both resident children and Children in the surrounding communities.

Receiving the donation, the management and children of the homes expressed their gratitude to GAB for their support. The homes face significant financial challenges. Haven of Hope Residential Home, for instance, reportedly spends over GHS 25,000 monthly on food alone. Administrators have issued a nationwide appeal for sustained support to help maintain a nurturing and stable environment for the children.
