The Ga West Business Advisory Centre has organized a training programme to equip entrepreneurs with essential financial literacy and business management skills to promote sustainable growth and development of their businesses.

The training programme, which took place on Monday, 1^st September, 2026 at the McKeown Temple at Amasaman was facilitated by Dr. Justice Sakyi Anoff, who took participants through practical and effective approaches to managing and growing their businesses.

During his presentation, Dr. Anoff urged participants to develop good financial management practices such as preparing budgets, separating personal finances from business funds, keeping accurate records of daily sales, managing cash flow effectively and controlling debts.

According to Dr. Anoff, many businesses fail not necessarily because they lack customers, but because business owners often lack the financial management skills required to sustain and grow their enterprises.

He therefore urged entrepreneurs to pay greater attention to proper financial planning and record-keeping, stressing that sound financial management was essential to making informed business decisions and ensuring long-term profitability.

The training also focused on effective strategies for promoting and marketing businesses. Participants were introduced to practical ways of branding their products, using social media platforms to attract potential customers and adopting strategies to retain existing customers for sustainable business growth.

As part of efforts to enhance efficiency and productivity, Dr. Anoff introduced participants to selected Japanese industrial management concepts. These included Karakuri, Corporate Agency, Agentry Management, Visual Management and Waste Management.

Participants were also taken through the Four Steps to Management and the 5S Concept, which are designed to promote efficiency, discipline, organization and continuous improvement in the workplace.

The training provided entrepreneurs with practical knowledge and tools to improve their financial management, marketing, productivity and overall business operations.

The initiative forms part of efforts by the Ghana Enterprises Agency to strengthen the capacity of local entrepreneurs and support the development of sustainable businesses that can contribute to employment creation and the economic development of the municipality.
