On January 11th, 2024, the Municipal Chief Executive of Ga West Municipal Assembly, Hon Clement Wilkinson, cut the sod for the opening of Oak Barrels PVT Ltd, a new company situated in Amasaman.

Oak Barrels PVT Ltd is a company that produces a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including Aroma Bitters, Juniper Gin, and Black Panther Cola Flavoured Rum. During his speech to the media and guests, the MCE expressed his admiration for the factory's state and the progress it has made so far. He urged Oak Barrels PVT Ltd to explore producing other beverages and to take hygiene seriously to keep the products safe for consumption and follow FDA guidelines.

The Managing Director of Oak Barrels PVT Ltd, Mr. Ankur Maheshwari, mentioned that their products are made from the finest local herbs and leaves to promote the government's agenda of using home-grown materials in manufacturing to improve local revenue. The company aims to launch five more products by the end of 2024. Mr. Maheshwari stated that Oak Barrels PVT Ltd will support the development of Ga West by hiring local youth and create more job opportunities.

The Export Manager of Oak Barrels PVT Ltd, Mr. Samuel Adu Frimpong, also mentioned the company plans to support local revenue generation by exploring export opportunities.
