As part of the government’s mandate of being accountable to the people of Ghana, the Ministry of Information in collaboration with the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council organized a regional town hall meeting and exhibition on Tuesday 6th August, 2024 at the Ghana National Association of Teachers Hall.
The theme for the event was “Regional Revitalization; Government’s Commitment to Growth, Development and Prosperity”. Opening the meeting, Minister for Information, Hon. Fatimatu Abubakar said the goal of government is to create a government that listens, responds and acts in the best interest of its people. These town hall meetings are steps towards achieving that vision. We are building a future where every Ghanaian feels included and empowered to contribute to our nation’s growth.
The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Hon. Daniel Titus Glover provided a comprehensive update on the developmental projects undertaken over the past seven and half years and said the government is committed to completing stalled projects.
He further explained the government’s commitment to improving the lives of Ghanaian citizens through strategic infrastructural development.
The Finance Minister, Dr Mohammed Amin Adan, outlined the government’s economic interventions like stabilising the local currency, reducing inflation and achieving a trade surplus.
The event featured an exhibition centre where all 29 districts within the Greater Accra Region showcased their projects and initiatives within the past seven and half years. Government officials and the public interacted directly during the exhibition.
At the meeting were government officials, youth groups, union representatives and community leaders.
Ga West Municipal Assembly exhibited the works of small and medium-scale operators who were trained by the government under the Business Advisory Centre (BAC) programs. The Assembly also exhibited all key infrastructural projects done from 2017 to 2024.
