GA WEST MUNICIPAL ASSEMBLY INTENSIFIES REVENUE DRIVE WITH A DIGITAL PAYMENT ROLLOUT STARTING WITH A DATA- CAPTURING EXERCISE

10.Apr.2026

The Ga West Municipal Assembly (GWMA) has launched a public sensitization programme to educate residents and businesses on a newly introduced digital revenue mobilisation system, alongside with a data capturing exercise aimed at enrolling a cashless revenue payment system to improve service delivery across the municipality.

The initiative forms part of the Assembly’s broader mandate to improve internally generated funds and enhance administrative efficiency. Under the new system, ratepayers within the Kotoku Zonal Council will be able to make cashless payments for services such as Business Operating Permits, Temporary Structure Renewal Permits, Property Rates and Market Tolls and other Municipal records.

As part of the process, ratepayers will receive SMS notifications from the Assembly containing secure links that allow them to access their bills and complete payments conveniently. Accredited revenue officers will also be deployed to offer assistance and ensure a smooth transition to the digital platform.

The Assembly is set to roll out a comprehensive data capturing exercise beginning in April 2026. The exercise will cover key areas including business registration, property registration, market tolls, and other municipal records. The Assembly says this effort is intended to generate accurate and reliable data to support effective planning, improved revenue mobilisation, and enhanced service delivery.

To ensure widespread awareness, the Information Services Department of the Assembly plans to engage various institutions and community platforms within the municipality to disseminate information on the new initiatives.

OMNI STRATEGIES, the company contracted by the Assembly to roll out the digitalisation process on Tuesday 7th April held a training at the Assembly Hall for its field officers.

The Assembly remains confident that the combined implementation of the digital payment system following the data capturing exercise will significantly improve revenue generation and contribute to better service delivery for residents of Ga West.
