GWMA Outdoors DRIP Equipment's

The Ga West Municipal Assembly received its allocation of equipment's under the District Road Improvement Program (DRIP) initiative by the government and unveiled it on 8th October 2024. The equipment received includes a tipper truck, water tanker, a roller, a backhoe, and a motor grader.

During the ceremony to present the equipment to residents, Hon. Clement Wilkinson, the Municipal Chief Executive, praised the government for prioritizing the welfare of the citizens. He explained that the DRIP project aims to empower Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) with the resources and equipment needed to rehabilitate and maintain roads within their jurisdiction, bringing about significant changes. He further mentioned that the equipment will greatly improve the condition of the roads within the municipality, making them more accessible for businesses and providing easier access to essential amenities such as hospitals and schools.

Nii Torto, the Chief Secretary of the Chiefs and Queens association, highlighted that the project fulfills the president’s pledge to ensure equitable distribution of national resources. He urged stakeholders to ensure longevity of the equipment through proper storage and regular maintenance so that it can serve its purpose for the benefit of the residents.
