The Africa skills hub on Monday 27th January organized a 3-day programme in collaboration with the Mind Builders Africa and the National Youth Authority at the Ga West Municipal Assembly Hall to train entrepreneurs in the municipality on Agri-business and how to manage their business effectively.
The training which was sponsored by Master card comprised of youth in Agri-business from 18-35 years. The training was aimed at equipping the youth with the right skills to succeed in entrepreneurship or in the employment market. The training was delivered by Edna Effah Amponsah a resource person from Africa Skills Hub and Cynthia Nyame. They provided them with extensive training to help them build their skills and strategies in their agribusiness development in the municipality. They provided the participant with the skills they need to fully take advantage of the loan provided to ensure the growth of their various businesses, providing them with tips and strategies to build their businesses.
They presented to the participant the training modules relating to starting and growing a business and improving on their skills, successful applicants will be empowered to find their place in the agriculture value chain to be able to create jobs and contribute to gender equality in the agricultural and other sectors.
The Mind Builders Africa representatives, Abigail Amuah-Sekyi and Asana Sigrinaah focused on entrepreneurship and innovation development in their presentation. Their training modules will equip the participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to enhance theiremployability and entrepreneurial capabilities within the agricultural sector fostering self-reliance, innovation and economic growth.
One key question Edna Effah Amponsah the resourced person from Africa Skills Hub asked the participant was “what sparked their interest in Agribusiness’ and they gave interesting reasons and submissions. Some stated economic interest, sustainability and adaptability. All sessions were educative and interactive as the young entrepreneurs shared various ideas and took down comprehensive notes.
